Born in South Los Angeles, Sofia Arellano was adopted by a Mexican-American family as a baby. She grew up surrounded by loving people who taught her family isn’t always the one you’re born into.
The most YA thing to ever happened to her? She married her childhood sweetheart and lived mostly happily ever after. A few years ago, Sofia and company moved to Costa Rica and learned to surf (mostly flop gracelessly face-first into the water).
When Sofia isn't writing or making social situations awkward, you'll find her hiking, surfing, reading, and enjoying a cup of coffee--even though she gave it up.
